We got the nicest surprise in our mailbox this week -- your new CD crossed the ocean and we're listening to it in Belgium (while munching NutterButters, I might add!).

We love that you recorded Saulnierville Station -- It's such a fun version and it really makes us smile!

Congratulations on a terrific CD. Hope to see you in Nouvelle Ecosse very soon. xoxo

MAKE IT STOP!!!!

It was fun for a couple days but how do I get "Les Chevaliers" out my head. Just when I make progress, my wife comes by humming it. Its worse than a Rick Charette kid song:-).

Robert,

Just wanted to say how much my wife and I enjoyed your show last night at One Longfellow. I wasn’t sure what to expect after a seeing a brief spot on 207 last spring and the follow up a couple weeks ago. But I have to admit I was not only impressed with your musicianship but had a lot of fun too.(Right now my wife, who was completely unfamiliar with French Canadian let alone Acadien music is listening to the CD and tapping her feet on the spare Canadian Dri-core board I brought up from the basement this morning, an exact duplicate of Steve’s) Anyway, My grandfather was from St. John came ove in the 1890’s and I grew up in Westbrook and both parents spoke a mix of French/English. I also recall watching “ Dans to les canton” on TV as a kid the Sunday night Canadian version of Lawrence Welk.

Anyway lotsa fun, thanks for doin’ it and we will catch you again.

I was at the St Lawerence church show, I was actually filming for Strause & Co. I thought you were awesome and I can relate to having the French whipped out of you. Growing up we couldn't speak Acadian french in school.. I grew up in lewiston and I'm very pround of my heritage.. Your songs brought me back to my childhood and listening to my Meme and family in the living room playing cribbage and singing songs while us kids who were supposed to be in bed, hid on the stairs watching them> I loved every minute of it. Thank you. I need a copy of the Cd for my Pere he will love it!

Hi gentlemen,
We also enjoyed the show in Rangeley. I just finished reading John Mack Faragher's " A Great and Noble Scheme" a few days before, so the show was timely in that sense.
While not properly "Acadian" in origin, I also was happy to hear "Minor Swing", and St. Anne's Reel and.....Soldier's Joy (?) as part of Steve's fiddle tunes. Our previous exposure to Acadian music has come from travels in NS and PEI so it's good to know that there's music being made a little closer to home as well.....
Would look forward to seeing you all again next time you're over Vermont way.

Bravo, les "tordus borealais"!

Merci d'avoir partage votre "joie de vivre" and amazing musicianship avec nous a Castleton, Vermont hier soir! There may have been only two of us who understood the lyrics, but it was obvious that everyone understood the "universal language" of great music!

Steve, ca m'a fait un grand plaisir de "jaser" en francais un peu.... I really miss the French culture here, so you guys were a great reminder of the richness (and fun!) of having French-Canadian roots.

Keep up the great work and keep touring! Add me to your mailing list.

Found your cd at my fav goodwill en route to a Living History event in NH. My daughter and I portray Acadienne women, 1750ish. We are still newbies, but are looking at original documents and such in order to do a good job at it. This story must continue to be told!
My Grandfather, Ronald Martin, was a fiddle player in Island Falls. Although he mostly played swing, he told me once that we were "Arcadian". I am in the process of trying to find out what exactly that means, since it has been very watered down in my family. While listening to you music, I found his fiddle tone! My son now has that violin and is playing it. Look forward to seeing you in Madawaska!

Hey Mr. Muise;
I was looking at Phil McIntyre's website and I saw you're picture in an upcoming event. I didn't know you knew Phil, I been to sooooo many of the house concerts he's had there, I was one of the few that went to the first one. It's good to know that he's getting more people and recognition. I'll most likely see you at the concert. Good luck!!

We love the new album out in California! The first song is one of my favorite songs ever and the rest of the album is fantastic as well. We have played the CD at least once a day since we got it and we always play it when friends come over. It's a wonderful combination of traditional and unusual. Beautiful and fun! One friend said "it's such happy music" another said "one of the reasons I like it is the musicians are all obviously so skilled."

Please start working on the next one now and consider a tour of California. If you don't come to California please consider putting more live tracks and singles up on this site. You have fans who are hungry for more Boreal Tordu!!!

Nice to see your smiling faces in the photos. It's a great reminder of the wonderful night you gave us when you played in our home here in Shelburne last August. We can't thank you enough for sharing so much of your valuable time with us (when you could have been sleeping!)

Steve, Rob, Pip, & Ron,

It was a pleasure to meet you all this past weekend. I very much enjoyed listening to your music even though I did not understand any of the French lyrics. You could tell from being in the audience that you guys really enjoy performing together. The music and singing was very tight and of great professional quality. I am looking forward to getting a copy of your latest CD. It was exciting for me to me to see my old-time friend, performing at two concerts in one day. You could tell that the audience was very much entertained. I hope you guys continue to have fun playing together long into the future as you grow old together! I am looking forward to seeing you all again real soon, and hopefully my Bride will be able to attend the next performance. Best of luck!
